Hi, welcome.   Yes,  I suggest you do weight training every other work out, alternate with your favorite aerobics videos.    You need to stress the bones,  put some weight on,  to challenge the bones.  One thing you can do with an aerobic video is to add a few high impact moves.   Most aerobics show a couple versions, and you don't need to do the whole thing in high impact(for example,  I am 66, and I like {Results Fitness}5591^ with Cindy Whitmarsh, has 30 min intervals, one for upper body and one for lower,  one minute of strength alternating with one min ofcardio. ).  I have Ellen Barrett's Flat Belly Workout and love it.   You can carry light weights as you do  aerobics,  or add your own higher impact moves  if you wish.    Same with the Jane Fonda. But nothing beats classical body sculpting,  squats,  lunges,  presses, flies,  deadlifts,  for building strong bodies!   Have you had a bone density test?   Do you eat lots of calcium?Family history of women with osteoporosis?  I am not a physician, but those are things you might want to discuss with your doctor.   Best to you,  Alice

Yes did a bone test. slight bone loss . I have been off and on predisone since I was a baby due to  asthma. I also put on mucle easily.  When I was in my twentys I did the firm classics 5 - 6 times a week and felt like I was beaten  up .I got very buff.

I'm in the same boat, getting back into shape.  You should try Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds, {The Ultimate Collection}5715^.  It has a 1, 2, 3 and 4 mile workout and it also comes with a stretchie band for upper body toning.  I've done all but the one mile and I get a good, low impact cardio and toning workout. Good Luck!
