Beginner weight for body bar?

All, I consider myself to be a high int/low adv exerciser and am wanting to get a body bar to do a few workouts like Kimberly Spreens Combat Surge and Mindy's All Systems Go, etc. What is a good weight to start off with? I was thinking maybe 8lbs? It is hard to imagine how I will feel after holding a moving a bar for 45-55 minutes. I know in kettle bell style workouts when I use one weight with both hands on it 8lbs is a good challenge. Maybe 6lbs is better for a body bar? Suggestions?

    Redcat 75,

I also consider myself to be high intermediate/low advanced.  I have Combat Surge and do the whole workout all the way thru. There are two body bar segments.  I use a 12 lb bar.  I can complete it, but it is pretty challenging.  (Just for reference, I use 10 lbs for kettlebell workouts.)  As 8lbs is a good challenge for you, I wouldn't go any higher than that.
