Where to purchase a ladies weighted bar like Cathe uses in her dvd's.

Just wondering where to get a weighted bar the kind Cathe' uses in her workouts.  I googled and didn't find what I was looking for.

Thanks

I don't know what Cathe is using, but there is something called a BodyBar.

You can buy them in different weights.  I have the 12# and the 18#.

Basically a coated metal bar, the weight distributed evenly along the length.  The coating provides a bit of padding and insulates your skin from cold metal, and makes it non slippery.

I've found mine to be versatile.  They have stood the test of time, I've had mine about 20 years.  They are easy to store....I put mine upright in the corner of the room, when I'm not using them,  hidden by the curtain.  They could also easily slide under a bed or dresser.

Does one of Cathes DVD clips show her using one?  I'm curious if it is like the Bodybar.

    That was my thought, also.

Collage sells body bars--they are listed under equipment on the main site--you may need to click the "more" for them to pop up. Not sure what the weights are though.

Play It Again Sports has weighted bars and regular barbells. Sports Authority too. For Barbells for both places the bar itself is 5#'s and you add your own weights. I do have a weighted bar and it's 18#'s. The problem is if you get stronger then you have spent money on something you don't use much anymore. Regular barbells are a better deal because you just add the plate weights as you get stronger.

I tend to do Barre without a Barre...but I've been known to stand my lighter one on end, get a firm grasp...and use the bodybar for balance.

I have both....barbell, and bodybars.  I keep the barbell loaded up for heavier stuff..and use the bodybars for lighter stuff.
