about jumping jacks

Is there a substitute for jumping jacks?  I just cannot do jumping anymore.

I always do heel jacks instead. You push both arms over your head like you do for jumping jacks, but instead of jumping out with both feet for each arm raise you put one leg out to the side with your toe up and your heel down, then the other leg out to the side with your toe up and heel down. A good workout that shows modifications for jumping jacks and other high impact moves is Prevention Walk Your Way Slim with Michelle Dozois. There are a high impact exerciser, a low impact exerciser, and a middle range exerciser all shown throughout the workout.

The scissor move is good, you are not jumping but shuffling both feet forward and backwards- it really works the inner thighs. Another name for this exercise is the nordic track move.
