Do you rotate your weights light and heavy for better results?

Hi girls do you rotate your weights, for example lighter more reps with jari for 3-4 weeks and then cathe using heavier weights less reps. Do you think this helps so your body doesnt adapt to the same exercises over and over?

Hi Dawn - I really only use light weights but I sometimes try to alternate weights with ballet type toning/strength work.

I have done this changing things up from Cathe to Jari and Slim Series.  However I find that I have more variety with the hi reps lo weights.  Cathe sometimes burns me out.

In the past I've stuck with 6 weeks of hi reps lo weights.  Then a recovery week of fusion type workouts.  Like Ellen Barrett, Petra's {Breathe I & II}7723^, {Elegant Strength}7944^ and Chantal's Soul Sweat.

Then I'd do 4 weeks of Cathe's heavy weights.  I can't do 6 weeks of Cathe's anything or I'll have super burn out of her.

You know my heavies are probably some of your light weights. I use no more than 10 pounds in each hand. I usually use my 5's and my 8's for everything though. My 10's I use for back and biceps if the reps are short. If the reps are longer ( like Jari's workouts) I use my 8's and 5's. I use my 3's on deltoids and also for long tricep work I move down to my 3's eventually...like {NYC}7752^ she works those triceps!!

Whenever I do low reps I use heavier weights ( my 10's for instance and my 8's depending on what muscle) But whenever we do LONG reps, I use lighter, like my 5's and my 3's depending on what muscle. My 8's get used in pretty much every weight workout. I need to get me some 12's!!

edit: OOOPS I just realized I answered this question already- hahaha.

I did Jari's Advanced rotation a few weeks ago. When Jari had cardio, I did a Firm cardio with light weights. Mostly because of the love/hate relationship with leg presses. I did notice defination with Jari and pushed myself with heavier weights when I did strength training with Cathe and The Firm. Hope this helps.

    Happy Exercising! Annette
