Jogging & Leg Workouts

Hi.  I have just started jogging.  I'm reading a few books about completing a half-marathon (not that I am anywhere near that yet) and it seems that most runners don't recommend doing weight workouts for legs on the days when you are not jogging.  Currently I alternate jogging with Barre-type workouts or pilates and some upper body weights.  Do you think the Barre-type training will be too much?  Thanks!

    I dont know if this helps but Im a daily runner and still do lowerbody work on the same day.

    I'm a runner but I don't do any weighted lower body workouts on my non running days.  I will only do squats or walking lunges.  I usually run a rather hilly course and that is working for me right now.   I know other runners that do lower body weight workouts though.  Try it and do what works best for you.
